Staff & Management

Thomas A. Baafi II is the Chief Executive Officer of Bsystems Limited. Under his leadership, Bsystems has emerged the No.1 systems and software solutions provider in Ghana with 45 employees supporting fifteen companies using Oracle related products.

Mr. Baafi wields varied and extensive experience in consultancy haven worked with Oracle Corporation, USA as a Principal Consultant for many years. He was also the Technical Manager responsible for the implementation of Oracle Financials at State Commission Corporation in Virginia, Alabama State Docks and Alabama Mobile County.  In Ghana Mr. Baafi has also implemented banking and insurance solutions for five major commercial banks and three insurance companies respectively.

Thomas worked with Electronic Data Systems (EDS) in Dayton, Ohio as a Systems Engineer where he was part of the implementation team that designed and implemented financial applications for the General Motors Acceptance Corporation. Upon leaving EDS, he joined Anderson Consulting as Senior Systems Engineer. He was instrumental in the design, development and implementation of Warehouse, Inventory, and Billing Payroll systems application for Uniden America Corporation.

Mr. Baafi also worked with Savannah River Company, a division of Westinghouse Electric, supervising various contracts valued between $500K to $4.2 million USD. In 1994, Thomas received the George Westinghouse Award for Technical Excellence and the Vice President’s Award in 1996.

Mr. Thomas Baafi obtained his MSc. Degree in Management Information Systems (MIS) from Nova South-Eastern University, Florida. He also holds a BSc. Degree in Computer Science and Information Systems from Austin Peay State University, Clarksville, Tennessee.




ABRAHAM SARFO (BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER)

Mr. Abraham Sarfo is a business development strategist with extensive experience working with small to medium-scale businesses in product innovation, financial management and business development. He has created and implemented business strategies leading to quick expansion into international markets. Abraham is adept in value chain analysis, financial analysis and modelling, and budgeting.

Abraham joined Bsystems from the United States African Development Foundation (USADF), a US Federal Government Agency dedicated to funding and assisting enterprises in Africa to achieve business excellence and growth. As a Business Development Consultant for USADF, Abraham worked with several enterprises in Ghana and managed investment portfolios well over $3 million USD.  He mostly assisted enterprises in internal processes, financial excellence, marketing analysis and business development for competitive advantage.

Mr Sarfo also worked as an independent consultant on various projects for both the private sector and governmental agencies. He helped to develop a monitoring and evaluation framework for the Government of Ghana/African Development Bank Urban Poverty Reduction Project whiles he was a consultant with Pentax Management Consultancy Services. Abraham also worked with the Lincoln Group to source for funding, valued at $1 million USD, from the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) for Yedent Agro Processing Limited. Abraham worked as Business Manager with Getrade Ghana Limited where he helped to introduce Village Fresh, an indigenous Ghanaian soap, onto the international market.

Abraham holds an MBA in Finance from the University of Ghana Business School, Legon; a Graduate Diploma in Marketing, Human Resources and Financial Management from the Institute of Commercial Management (UK); and BSc. in Agric from Kwame Nkrumah University Science and Technology (KNUST). He is currently studying for his ACCA professional qualification.



DENNIS OKYERE (IT MANAGER)

Dennis Okyere is the Head of the Information Technology Department of Bsystems Limited. Mr. Okyere is a CompTIA Project+ Certified Professional. He acquired his experience as a Computer Systems Engineer while working for Persol Systems Limited as Assistant Manager for the Systems Integration Department.

Mr. Okyere undertook various managerial positions whiles working in the United Kingdom. He held the position of Site Person in Charge (SPC) Safety on The Track (SOTT) at Braybrook Construction Limited and Mane Rail Limited respectively. At TNT Express Depot, UK, Dennis worked as Assistant Manager in charge of parcel data entry. Following his hard work and dedication, he was awarded the best Loading Bay Operative in 2001. Dennis Okyere was also part of the team that worked on the refurbishment of Bethnal Green, Liverpool Street and Ealing Broadway Underground Train Stations as part of development works towards the 2012 Olympic to be hosted by London.

Mr. Okyere obtained his MSc. in Finance & Business Management from the University of Bedfordshire, UK in 2006. In 2002, he studied Microsoft Certified Systems Engineering (MCSE) at Westminster College of Computing to become a Certified Windows 2000 Professional. Dennis also holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agriculture from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).

Mr. Okyere has recently completed Oracle training in database management and performance tuning and pursuing further training to become Oracle expect and Project Manager.


Frank Poku is the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in charge of the Finance and Administration Department at Bsystems Limited. His department is responsible for providing audit support to both internal and external auditors.

Frank joined Bsystems Limited from the USA, bringing with him varied and extensive working experience spanning over 15 years in Financial Accounting.  He was the Billing Manager for three years with Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC), a $15 billion US Government contractor for the US Navy, Department of Homeland Security, as well as the Department of Defence. CSC mainly specializes in IT business outsourcing and Systems Integration and Development.

Mr. Poku has held various managerial positions including Senior Financial Analyst and as an Accountant at Apache Medical Systems and L3 Communications respectively. While he worked at Innovative Technologies in the USA, Frank led a team to convert Great Plains Accounting software to Deltek Cost Point accounting system.   

Mr. Poku received the President’s Gold Excellence Award in 2005, Silver Award in 2004 and Bronze Award in 2003 in acknowledgement of his hard work, diligence and dedication at Innovative Technologies. Frank holds a BSc in Finance and Accounting from the University of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada and a Diploma in American Institute of Banking (AIB), Washington DC Chapter.  

 



EFFIE ANSAH (CORPORATE AFFAIRS & HUMAN RESOURCES)

Miss Effie Ansah performs a multifaceted role as Head of the Corporate Affairs and Human Resources Department at Bsystems Limited. Her responsibility as the Corporate Affairs Manager involves coordinating the presentation of the public face of Bsystems.

Miss Ansah worked as the Executive Assistant at the Cardiff branch of New Opportunities, a call centre franchise in the United Kingdom, where she coordinated administrative operations between the branch offices.

Effie was instrumental in successfully winning and managing a $25K USD publishing contract from the Ghana Tourism Board in commemoration of Ghana’s 50th anniversary while she worked with Surf Publications Limited as the Public Relations and Human Resources Manager. During her employment with Surf Publications she also managed the human resources department and handled all of its internal and external recruitments. Miss Ansah also implemented administrative controls and procedures to ensure effective and efficient administrative operations of the company.

Miss Ansah began her public relations career at the public relations wing of the Ministry of Lands, Forestry and Mines as Assistant to the Public Relations Officer. She briefly worked with the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation which resulted in her gaining valuable experience in media relations.

Effie obtained a Postgraduate Masters Degree in International Public relations from Cardiff University, UK during which period she was also a Student Representative and Staff-Student Panel member for the MAIPR Program. Miss Ansah also holds a Diploma in Communication Studies from Ghana Institute of Journalism where she was accredited the Best Student in Mass Communication; and a Diploma in Information Technology from the Institute of Management in Information Systems (IMIS, UK). Miss Ansah is a member of the Charted Institute of Public Relations (CIPR, UK) and an accredited member of the Institute of Public Relations (IPR, Ghana).



Ms.Christiana Afriyie is the marketing Manager of Bsystems Limited. She has a proven extensive professional experience and understanding of marketing management, marketing communication and marketing research as well as good communication skills. Before joining Bsystems, Ms.Afriyie worked as the Associate Director in-charge of Programs at the Civic Foundation, a Non –Governmental Organization that supports the Judicial Service of Ghana through Research, facilitation and project implementation. Civic Foundation was supported by donor agencies like UNDP, GTZ, DFID, DANIDA etc.

Ms.Afriyie was mainly responsible for developing project concepts and proposals as well as projects management with community leaders, chiefs, and opinion leaders throughout Ghana. She also played a key role in the Chief Justice’s Forum held in 2006 in the Eastern Region of Ghana.

Christie also worked as the General Manager of Towers Computers Ltd, where she managed ten (10) branches with one hundred and twenty support staff for two years. During her employment with Towers Computers, Christiana was instrumental in the Company’s further expansion into other parts of the Country with Ghana Telecom,VAT,ECG,etc were among their major stakeholders. She won a bid in 2005 to supply stationeries, printed materials, Uniforms, Computers as well as toners for the Ghana Police Service. She also designed credit schemes to increase funds mobilization to the tune of one hundred and seventeen thousand US Dollars (117,000 USD).

In 2003, she became the Director of Towers Computers School for a period of two years during which time the school recorded the highest student enrollment and in support of Government ICT Initiative, she designed a curriculum which trained over a thousand (1000) students in basic knowledge in computing who also took home free set of Computers.

As the Administrative manager of Shai Industries, Ms.Afriyie played a vital role in all aspects of the Company’s operations particularly in the business development during which year one of the company’s products, sachet drinking water “pure Shai” realized the highest sale and was rated the best sachet drinking water in the Ga-Adamgbe district.

Ms.Afriyie is a Chartered Marketer with the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM_UK) United Kingdom, a member of CIM-UK,CIM-Ghana and Ghana-Zimbabwe Business Forum. She also holds a Bachelors Degree in Science Education from the University of Education, Winneba
